This beautiful, slide gate entry system has an adjacent, matching pedestrian gate and fence panel with a secure, built in mailbox. Access control includes multi-button transmitters to open the gate from the vehicle and a digital keypad to allow authorized visitors.
We have built many wood gates over the years. Okay, LOTS of wood gates over the years; but none like this one.
This gate is unique for two reasons. First, the gate is made of ipe (pronounced ee-pay) What is it? Ipe, or Brazilian walnut, is one of the densest hardwoods available. In fact, it is three times harder than cedar. It is the perfect choice for a gate in the Pacific Northwest as it is highly resistant to mildew and decay, and its natural oils make it highly resistant to bugs as well. With a fire rating the same as concrete or steel, you can see why this wood is extremely durable and will hopefully last 25 years or longer if properly maintained.Second, the wood for this entire project was customer-supplied. After completing his own project, he decided to use the remainder of the wood for his gate. Because of that, we built the gate to fit the size of the wood and…. voila!
